It's not too late: How I started Learning Online ( and earning ) After 60
A few years ago, I never imagined I’d be building a website, recommending products, or learning how to earn money online. I thought that ship had sailed. I assumed the internet was for the younger crowd — faster thumbs, fresher brains, and people who understood what all those techy acronyms meant.
But here I am. Still learning. Still growing. And making the most of the digital world — one small step at a time.
And if I can do it, you can too.
The Turning Point
I was looking for something that would supplement my income and eventually replace it, leaving me free from my night shift work and stress-free from all the responsibility that came with the job.
I read book after book on how to do this, and most were pretty good, but the one that did it for me was a book called '' Rich Dad Poor Dad '' by Robert Kawisaki. This book opened my eyes to how we are taught to work for money, but not how to make money work for us.
That book made me realise that mindset is everything. If I wanted a different kind of retirement- one where I could still contribute, still grow, and maybe even earn - I had to think differently.
So I started learning.
The 3 Things That Held Me Back ( And How I Got Over Them )"
"I'm too old for the tech stuff."
I thought I'd left learning new things behind with school uniforms and chalkboards. But the truth is: you are never too old to learn - especially when the stakes are your freedom and confidence.
What helped: A simple laptop and a lot of patience and learning. It's also important to say at this point that you need to keep a positive and willing attitude to learn and grow.
Fear of pressing the wrong button.
I worried I would break something or get stuck in a place I couldn't fix. But honestly? Nothing exploded. I made mistakes - and I learned faster because of them.
What helped: Keeping a simple record of things you have learnt and tips you have been given, and things you should Google later.
Not Knowing Where To Start.
There's so much out there. I just needed someone to say: " Start here." And thankfully, I found exactly the right place to be, honestly!

Final Thoughts: This Journey Is Just Beginning.
If you are sitting there thinking, " That's all well and good," but I'm not sure I can do it, let me reassure you: you can.
Learning to work online, sharing your interests, and earning affiliate income isn't about being techy - it's about being curious, consistent, and a little bit brave.
